“In the spirit of Ubuntu, a person is a person through other persons, and none of us comes into the world fully formed. We would not know how to think or walk or speak or behave as human beings unless we learned it from other human beings. We need other human beings in order to be human. I am because other people are.”

— Desmond Tutu

Who we are

I'm Amber England, founder of Ubuntu Global Learning Design. For over 20 years, I’ve created impactful learning experiences for mission driven organizations across the U.S. and internationally. My work spans healthcare, higher education, nonprofits, and the corporate sector, always with a focus on inclusive, learner-centered design.

A defining moment in my career came while working on an instructional design project at the Red Cross War Memorial Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. Immersed in a culture vastly different from my own, I saw firsthand how meaningful learning must reflect the voices and values of its learners. That experience continues to shape my approach today.

Ubuntu Global Learning Design specializes in courses, workshops, and strategies that are culturally responsive, globally aware, and rooted in community. This portfolio reflects that commitment; projects that bridge cultures, inspire engagement, and deliver lasting impact.
